Day1 : Arrive Colombo - Kandy
Welcome to
your tour of Sri Lanka! The Emerald Isle! Once you arrive at Colombo
International Airport, after clearing Customs & Immigrations you will be
met by our local representative and transferred by road to your hotel in Kandy.
Enroute visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. This orphanage is the home for
about 60 elephants, out of which some are baby elephants found abandoned or
orphaned in the wild. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life
authorities. The best time to visit is during the feeding times, when one will
have the opportunity of seeing the baby elephants being bottle-fed. Later check
into the hotel at Kandy. In the evening enjoy a Cultural show featuring
traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Overnight at the hotel, Kandy .
Day 2 :
Kandy - Bentota
Enjoy
breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast commence a half day city tour of Kandy including
visit to the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Kandy was the last capital of
the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures
visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and
folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by
the last Sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and
Bazaar, the arts & crafts center and a gem museum and a lapidary. Also
visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. This Botanical Garden was first built as a
pleasure Garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147
acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers.
Later proceed to Bentota. Check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure
to stroll around the Lighthouse and harbour or visit the old town where you can
see the traditional lace makers and carvers and purchase some the finest
shell-craft souvenirs in the world. Overnight at the hotel, Bentota
Day 3 : Bentota - Colombo
Enjoy
buffet breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast proceed to Colombo. Arrive
Colombo and check-in at the hotel. Later in the afternoon enjoy a half day
sightseeing tour of Colombo driving through the Commercial area of the Fort so
named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch had a Fort at this point. Drive
passed Pettah a noisy Oriental bazaar with a hotchpotch of Humanity, ancient
vehicles, bargains, mosques & temples. Visit Hindu temple & drive pass
Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque, Continue the tour through the Wolvendaal Dutch
Church, Hultsdorf Law courts, to the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens and
on to the Independence Square and Bandaranayake Memorial International
Conference Hall. Also, visit the ceramics corporation showroom, majestic city shopping
complex, House of Fashion, and the Odel unlimited dress boutique. Overnight at
the hotel, Colombo.
Day 4 : Depart Colombo
Enjoy
breakfast at the hotel. Today you will be met by our local representative at
the hotel lobby for your departure transfer to the Airport. |
