Fujairah, was created with the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. Fujairah, the, overlooking the expansive waters of the Gulf of Oman, is the epicenter of all east coast exploration excursions. Fujairah around 2 hours from Dubai, with the dramatic Hajar Mountains as a backdrop, is situated on the east coast serving the waves of the Indian Ocean. There are some stunning beaches and good diving locations along the coast, while the surrounding area features many cultural and historic sites. Fujairah Fort, Fujairah Heritage Village, Fujairah Museum, and Ain al Madhab Gardens are some of the attractions that are worth visiting.
